PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen information management system which can efficiently perform sample preparation work at low cost and prevents the human confusion of specimens during label attachment work. ! SOLUTION: The system causes a sample preparation tool 20 to display specimen identification information 18 by reading means 5 for reading specimen identification information 16 displayed on a specimen container 13, storage means 4 for storing information acquired by the reading means 5, and a control part 3 which can output and display the specimen identification information 16 on the basis of the information stored by the storage means 4. The control part 3 includes: reception means for receiving information from sensing means 9 for sensing that the sample preparation tool 20 is arranged at a prescribed position; instruction means for instructing printing means 10 to print the specimen identification information 16 on a label 19 on the basis of the information acquired by the reading means
