Provided is a steering apparatus such that backlash and rattling therefrom during position adjustment of a steering wheel are simply and sufficiently reduced without affecting operability of a turning lever. The steering apparatus (1) can adjust the tilt position and telescopic position of the steering wheel (H) by moving, relative to a vehicle main body, a column (20) that holds a shaft of the steering wheel (H). The steering apparatus (1) comprises: the turning lever (123), which is for fixing and releasing the column (20) to and from the vehicle main body; cams (120, 121) for fixing and releasing the column (20) while converting a rotational motion of the turning lever (123) to a movement in the axial direction of the rotational motion; and a sleeve (122) that holds the cams (120, 121) and slides against the cams (120, 121) when the turning lever (123) turns. The sliding surface between the sleeve (122) and the cams (120, 121) is coated with grease (A). |
