摘要 This photosensitive resin composition for an optical waveguide includes a resin component and a photopolymerization initiator. The resin component has, as a main component thereof, a polymerizable substituent-containing resin, and has an absorbance at 2960 cm-1 of less than 0.03, said absorbance being obtained by way of a total reflection measurement (ATR) method using a Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR). As a result, in cases when this photosensitive resin composition for the optical waveguide is employed as a material for forming the optical waveguide, and in particular as a material for forming a core layer of the optical waveguide, vibration absorption by the resin skeleton with respect to light with a wavelength of 850 nm propagated through the optical waveguide is avoided, and thus low loss can be achieved.
