A distributed system comprises a mobile device, such as a smart phone, having an application executing thereon. The mobile device is communicatively connected to a private wireless network which connects a plurality of wireless microphones that capture sounds from their respective surrounding. The wireless microphones transmit the audio sounds or data respective thereto, to the application on the mobile phone where signal processing takes place to at least aggregate the signal to a single audio signal. The audio signal is then delivered to a wireless or wired earpiece for the delivery of the aggregated sound to the ear of a user. In one embodiment of the invention a display of the mobile device provides an indication of the wireless microphone providing a sound. In another embodiment the user of the mobile device may select to mute, amplify, or decrease an audio signal from any give microphone. |
