DATA DELIVERY IN HYBRID AUTOMATIC RETRANSMISSION MECHANISM IN CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for delivering data recovered by a hybrid automatic retransmission (HARQ) entity in proper order to higher layers in a CDMA system.SOLUTION: A method comprises: receiving 1212 packets from the HARQ entity; detecting 1214 missing packets among the received packets; stalling 1216 delivery of received packets later than the detected missing packets; determining 1218 whether each missing packet is either successively received from the HARQ entity or lost by successively eliminating HARQ channels used to send the missing packet; and delivering 1220 received packets stalled by each missing packet after it is determined that the missing packet is lost or received from the HARQ entity.
