PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved radio communication device, base station, radio communication method, program, and radio communication system that can flexibly switch a period for communication of a paging channel.SOLUTION: The radio communication device which communicates with a base station transmitting paging information with plural different periods comprises: a radio communication unit for wirelessly communicating with the base station; a detection unit for detecting a change in the state of the radio communication device; and a reception control unit for autonomously switching a reception period for receiving the paging information transmitted from the base station, in accordance with detection results of the detection unit. |
