PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: phase-pure lithium aluminum titanium phosphates represented by the general formula LiTiAl(PO)with x of 0.4 or less, which combines characteristics of a high lithium ion conductivity with a low electrical conductivity; and a method for their production.SOLUTION: A method of producing a phase-pure lithium aluminum titanium phosphate comprises the steps of: a) providing a concentrated phosphoric acid, b) adding a mixture of a lithium compound, titanium dioxide and an oxygen-containing aluminum compound, c) heating the mixture in order to obtain a solid intermediate product, and d) calcining the solid intermediate product.
