PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-manufacture virtual image display device which has a simple configuration, and an optical element. ! SOLUTION: A virtual image display device 1 includes an image forming section which emits light L, and an expansion optical section 5 which receives the light L emitted from the image forming section and expands the light L in a two-dimensional manner.
