PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent delay of the timing of forming a pattern to be used for correcting an image forming condition. ! SOLUTION: An engine 203 receives image data from a controller 202, and receives pattern data for correcting an image forming condition. The engine 203 forms a pattern between a preceding image and a subsequent image, on the basis of the pattern data, when necessary to correct a parameter.
