<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of calculating the consumption of a color material with higher accuracy.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: edge counting means which counts the number of edges constituting a boundary between a recording pixel and a non-recording pixel of a halftone-processed image; pixel counting means which counts the number of the recording pixels of the image; image feature determination means which determines image feature of the image, on the basis of the number of edges, the number of recording pixels, and resolution of halftone processing; and toner consumption calculation means which calculates the amount of toner consumed by the image, by use of a toner consumption table corresponding to the image feature determined by the image feature determination means.</p> |
