A communication apparatus for maintaining a plurality of wireless communication interfaces is provided with: a communication processing unit for determining that a second wireless channel is to be changed when a first wireless channel used in a first network for communicating over a first wireless communication interface is the same as the second wireless channel used in a second network for communicating over a second wireless communication interface, performing a control so as to end the effective period of authentication with another communication device that has been authenticated for connecting to the second network, and commanding the second wireless channel to be changed to a wireless channel differing from the first wireless channel; and a MAC unit for switching the second wireless channel at the command from the communication processing unit. Therefore, in the communication apparatus for maintaining a plurality of wireless communication interfaces, when notification that the wireless channel has been switched is not received from a communication counterpart, the time required to interrupt communication can be shortened. |
