<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for producing 4-ethylidene-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing 4-ethylidene-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole, comprising: a first step of reactingγ-butyrolactone and an oxalic acid diester in the presence of a base to obtain a first intermediate; a second step of treating the first intermediate with a base, followed by reaction with acetaldehyde to obtain a second intermediate; a third step of reducing an ester portion of the second intermediate to obtain a third intermediate; a fourth step of converting a hydroxyl group of the third intermediate to a better leaving group, followed by conversion to azide with an azidizing agent to obtain a fourth intermediate; and a fifth step of reacting the fourth intermediate and a triorganophosphine to obtain 4-ethylidene-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole.</p> |
