<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the attachment state of image forming units in a short time.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a plurality of image forming units that each include an image carrier that is rotationally driven and each are removably attached to the image forming apparatus; light irradiation means for irradiating the image carriers of the plurality of image forming units with light to form electrostatic latent images; detection means for detecting electrostatic latent images; determination means for determining the attachment state of the plurality of image forming units on the basis of a result of the detection by the detection means; and control means for controlling the lengths in the main scanning direction of electrostatic latent images formed on the image carriers to be different from each other.</p> |
