PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron beam irradiation device that can reduce influence of radiation which is received by an operator during maintenance, and also suppress increase in area of a room where a moderator is installed, and a maintenance method for the neutron beam irradiation device.SOLUTION: A neutron beam irradiation device 1 which irradiates an irradiation object in an irradiation room Rm with a neutron beam, includes: a cyclotron 2 which accelerates charged particles to emit a charged particle beam P; a target 3 which is irradiated with the charged particle beam P to generate a neutron beam N; a vacuum duct 4 which connects the cyclotron 2 and the target 3 to each other; and a moderator 5 which decelerates the neutron beam N generated by the target 3, where the target 3 is movable away from the moderator 5. |
