PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: when a plurality of documents are stacked atop one another, a scan system may not accurately detect the contour of the documents. ! SOLUTION: A scan system includes image acquisition means for acquiring images of a placing part and a part in the vicinity thereof, detection means for detecting the placement of an object on the placing part on the basis of a change in the images continuously acquired by the image acquisition means, and derivation means for deriving the contour of the area of the object from the images acquired by the image acquisition means. When a new object different from the object is further placed on the placing part, the derivation means derives the contour of the new object after the placement by using the correspondence of feature points included in the area of the new object that is obtained from the respective images before and after the detection by the detection means that the new object has been placed on the placing part. ! |
