PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition for a color filter, which gives an excellent contrast ratio and brightness and other favorable characteristics (heat resistance, light fastness, sensitivity, and the like) when used for a color filter, and a color filter using the composition.SOLUTION: The coloring composition for a color filter comprises a colorant, a binder resin, and an organic solvent. The colorant includes one of the following yellow salt-forming dyes: (a) a yellow salt-forming dye YAb comprising a yellow anionic pigment derivative YA and a yellow cationic dye Yb; (b) a yellow salt-forming dye YaB comprising a yellow anionic dye Ya and a yellow cationic pigment derivative YB; and (c) a yellow salt-forming dye Yab comprising the yellow anionic dye Ya and the yellow cationic dye Yb. |
