Provided is an organic EL display device (electroluminescent device) (1) equipped with an organic EL element (electroluminescent element) (4), and provided with a sealing film (14) for sealing the organic EL element (4). In non-light emitting regions of the organic EL element (4) there are positioned protrusions (prevention portions) (15) for preventing film delamination of the sealing film (14), and having sloping surfaces (15c) that form obtuse angles with respect to the light-emitting surface of the organic EL element (4).
