PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for lithium ion batteries having good battery characteristics.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material for lithium ion batteries comprises the steps of: producing a slurry of lithium salt solution by mixing a solution of a salt of at least one metal selected from a group consisting of Ni, Mn, Co and Al, which is a sulfate, chloride salt, nitrate or acetate solution with a lithium raw material; and (A) producing a precursor by filtering the slurry of lithium salt solution with filter cloth, of which the permeability is equal to or larger than 0.4 cc/cmsec. rinsing the filtrate twice or more and then, drying it on condition that in the solution, the salt of the at least one metal is a sulfate or a chloride salt, or (B) producing the precursor by filtering the slurry of lithium salt solution, and drying the filtrate on condition that the salt of the at least one metal of the solution is a nitrate or an acetate. |
