PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that controls the extension of a video signal from video signal information and the transition time of the brightness of the output from a light source, so as to match a result of the extension of the video signal with the brightness of the output from the light source and thereby suppressing a reduction in display quality of the video signal. ! SOLUTION: A projector device includes means for collecting video signal information, means for calculating a light source output control parameter from the video signal information, means for acquiring the transition time of the output from a light source from the light source output control parameter, and means for extending a video signal; and calculates video signal extension information from the video signal information and transition time of the output from the light source and display the video signal as a video. !
