PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the collection of a larger quantity of light to an observer.SOLUTION: A reflecting plate 11 for a display device includes a line and space pattern that is provided on a substrate 10 and comprises a plurality of foundation members having a substantially trapezoidal cross-sectional shape, and a reflecting film 24 that is provided on the plurality of foundation members. The plurality of foundation members each have a first slope and a second slope steeper than the first slope and comprise a lower layer film 20 and an upper layer film 21 laminated on the lower layer film 20, and the upper layer film 21 is thinner than the lower layer film 20.
