<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel benzimidazole compound useful as a curing agent and a curing accelerator such as an epoxy resin and an urethane resin, a copper rust inhibitor and an electrolyte (ionic liquid), or intermediate materials of various medicaments, agricultural chemicals, and dyes, and a synthesis method for the benzimidazole compound.SOLUTION: This invention provides 2-pentamethylphenylbenzimidazole represented by chemical formula (I). The 2-pentamethylphenylbenzimidazole is synthesized by the reaction between orthophenylenediamine represented by chemical formula (II) and pentamethylbenzoic acid represented by chemical formula (III).</p> |
