PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition and a film for optical waveguide formation that are soluble in an alkaline aqueous solution and excellent in pattern formability, and an optical waveguide manufactured using them that is excellent in transparency and environmental reliability.SOLUTION: A resin composition for optical waveguide formation includes (A) a polymer having an alkali-soluble group, (B) a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated group, and (C) a polymerization initiator. The (B) composition includes: (B1) an ethylenically unsaturated compound having an urethane linkage; and (B2) an ethylenically unsaturated compound having a group reactive with the alkali-soluble group of the (A) polymer. A resin film for optical waveguide formation using the resin composition, and an optical waveguide are provided.
