Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a light emitting device (100) having a light emitting element (3) and a wavelength converting part (6) that converts the light emitted by the light emitting element (3) into light of a different wavelength. This manufacturing method is provided with a step for applying and drying a first liquid mixture, in which phosphors and flat particles are dispersed in a polyhydric alcohol that is dihydric or greater, on the light emitting element (3) and forming a phosphor layer and a step for applying and firing a second liquid mixture, in which a light-transmitting ceramic precursor is dispersed in a solvent, on the phosphor layer and forming the wavelength converting part (6). |
