The present invention relates to a security system having an independent power source. The security system having an independent power source comprises: a column installed in a security target area; a generating part installed on the column and including a solar cell module generating electrical energy from solar light; an image obtaining part installed on the column to obtain an image of the security target area; a human body sensing part installed on the column to detect a human body located in the security target area; the first wireless communication part wirelessly transmitting an image signal obtained by the image obtaining part and a detected signal obtained by the human body sensing part; a battery part storing the electrical energy generated by the generating part; a converter converting the electrical energy generated from the generating part or the electrical energy stored in the battery part to supply the converted electrical energy to each of the image obtaining part, the human body sensing part, and the first wireless communication part; a controller checking a generated state of the generating part and a charged amount of the battery part, supplying the electrical energy generated by the generating part to the battery part or the converter depending on the charged amount of the battery part, and controlling charging and discharging of the battering part; and a managing part receiving and storing signal information transmitted by the first wireless communication part and integrally managing the received signal information.
