Improvements in vehicle speed control

A speed control system for a vehicle, comprising an operating unit for automatically causing a vehicle to operate in accordance with a target speed value. A receiving unit receives information relating to movement of a portion of a body of an occupant relative to the vehicle, preferably due to an imaging device. An adjusting unit automatically adjusts the target speed value depending on the information. A controller is configured to determine the target speed value depending on a signal indicative of a measured comfort level. The system is preferably used in a low speed progress/cruise control system over off-road terrain.
