<p>A hairnet 1 comprising a knitted yarn and an antimicrobial agent. The anti microbial agent may be an anti bacterial agent. The yarn may be coated with an antimicrobial agent, or the agent may be retained within the structure of the yarn. The antimicrobial agent may be chosen from a metal or metal salt such as silver, copper, zinc, cobalt, titanium, tin, antimony, or may be silica, a quaternary ammonium salt, or a halogenated organic compound. The hairnet may have a body portion and a terminal edge portion, the edge portion comprising guide points P to allow the wearer to align the hairnet with the front and rear of the head. The wale 3 density of the body portion may be between 2.76 to 4.72 per centimetre. Also claimed is a method of knitting a hairnet.</p> |
