<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the liquid, or the like, adhering to a cap and remaining after wiping. <P>SOLUTION: The cleaning method of a cap which can come into contact with the nozzle opening formation surface of a liquid discharge head that discharges liquid from the nozzle opening is a cleaning method which includes a step of extending the contact surface, out of the surface of the cap, which comes into contact with the nozzle opening formation surface and on which a protrusion is formed, and a step of wiping the contact surface of the cap in the extended state by means of a wiper member in contact with the contact surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
