<p>An oriented multi-layer polymer material, an industrial textile and seaming elements therefor, and methods of manufacture. The polymer material comprises at least two thermoplastic polymeric layers, wherein at least one of the layers includes a radiation absorbent material to provide a weldable outer surface of the polymer material and at least one of the layers permits through transmission of laser energy. The polymer material can be provided as a bi-axially oriented film or as a filament; and allows for accuracy and reliability of welding, while avoiding the disadvantages associated with accurate placement and alignment of separate welding strips.</p> |
