摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide simple detection means which exhibits high sensitivity and reproducibility/quantitativity not inferior to those of a fluorescent/chemical luminescence method. <P>SOLUTION: A material detection method is provided which includes a step of generating silver-soluble substances in correlation with the existence or amount of object substances using core-shell metal nanoparticles having a core made of gold nanorods and a shell made of silver and a silver-soluble substance, and detecting the existence and/or amount of the object substances using a change in spectral characteristics due to dissolution of the silver shell as an index.
