An embodiment of the present invention relates to a machine tool having a protective cover apparatus. A vertical slide cover for a machine tool comprises: a plurality of first covers which vertically slide and overlap in a multiple stage; an inclined plate arranged in a first cover placed in an upper portion of the first covers; and a second cover coupled to the inclined plate to protect the first covers and having a plurality of folding units to be vertically stretched.
