<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk for a toroidal type continuously variable transmission having an appropriate hardness distribution without being accompanied by residual tensile stress, which is formed by surely performing the hardening processing of a part to be subjected to induction hardening because a hardened layer is formed so that a boundary part between hardened layers formed in the disk by induction hardening is set in the low stress part of the disk, and to provide a method for manufacturing the toroidal type continuously variable transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The disk 3 for the toroidal type continuously variable transmission includes: low stress parts 100a and 100b in which stress generated on the disk surface during running of the transmission is relatively low; and high stress parts 102a, 102b and 102c in which stress is relatively high. Hardened layers 130A, 130B, and 130C are formed so that boundary parts 120A and 120B between the hardened layers 130A, 130B and 130C formed in the disk 3 by induction hardening are set in the low stress parts 100a and 100b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
