The device (4) has a fixing support (40) intended to be fixedly connected to a contact wire (11), and an elastic blade (6) connected to the fixing support under tension. The elastic blade includes a fuse portion (63) to be ruptured in case of wear of the contact wire, where the elastic blade is intended to deform due to the elastic tension by the rupture of the fuse portion. The elastic blade includes a fixed end (61) attached to the fixing support, and a free end in the form of a hook (62) mounted with force on a part of the fixing support, so that the elastic blade is under elastic tension. An independent claim is also included for an assembly of an overhead line contact wire and a wear detection device.
