A method of constructing a building comprises the use of a single mould 50 to cast both a floor section and a wall section in a single casting operation. Self-compacting concrete may be used and the casting may be performed in situ. The mould may have a closed floor section in fluid communication with a vertical section having an opening. A plurality of moulds may be used to define wall and floor sections such that the building has a split-level, open-section construction. First, second and third moulds may be used, each having first and second vertical sections provided at opposing ends of a horizontal section.
