Suspension comprises a water miscible solvent, graphene flakes and at least one additive having a structure (I). Suspension comprises a water miscible solvent, graphene flakes and at least one additive having a structure of formula (cR(-Sp-W1) x) (I). cR : 2-7 aryl rings comprising condensed, polycyclic ring system; Sp : spacer having 2-10 atoms of linear chain, where at least a single bond is contained in the linear chain; W1 : functional protonizable, protonated, deprotonatable or deprotonated groups, provided that W1 comprises at least one group comprising polyoxyalkylene groups having at least 3 alkylene oxide units, monosaccharide groups, disaccharide groups, oligosaccharide groups with 3-10 saccharide units, polyoxazoline groups with 3-10 oxazoline units, then W1 is -S(=O) 2OH, -S(=O) 2NH 2,-OP(=O)(ORcR)(OH), -OP(=O)(OH) 2, -P(=O)(ORcR)(OH), -P(=O)(OH) 2, -O-S(=O) 2OH or -S(=O) 2OH, where the W1 increases the solubility of additive in water; RcR : optionally branched 1-3C-alkyl (unsubstituted); and x : 1-4. Independent claims are included for: (1) manufacturing a suspension, comprising (a) providing the suspension of graphite in a water miscible solvent, and (b) crushing the graphite under introducing energy into the suspension by ultrasound, ball mill, stirred ball mill, rotor-stator system and/or homogenizer to obtain graphene flakes, where the additive according to (I) is added in the step (a) and/or (b); (2) graphene flakes produced by the method; and (3) use of (I), for the stabilization and/or production of graphene platelets. |
