摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an olivine-type active material achieving high electron conductivity and large battery capacity as a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The active material contains particles of average composition represented by Li<SB POS="POST">w</SB>Mn<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Fe<SB POS="POST">y</SB>M<SB POS="POST">z</SB>PO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>, where M represents one or more kinds of elements selected from Mg, Ti, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn, 0<w≤1, 0.5≤x≤0.95, 0≤y≤0.5, 0≤z≤0.5, and x+y+z=1.
