<p>The present invention relates to a dehumidifier comprising: a refrigeration cycle part including a compressor, and a heat exchanger connected to the compressor to dehumidify through heat exchange with an indoor air; a humidity detecting part to detect humidity of the indoor air; a controlling part to control an operation rate to a first operation rate if a detected indoor humidity is a target humidity or more, and to control an operation rate to a second operation rate if the indoor humidity is less than the target humidity; and an inverter part to drive the compressor based on the operation rate transferred from the controlling part. The present invention has the effects of preventing water remaining in a water tank and an evaporator from increasing an indoor humidity by reducing a rotational number of a blowing fan, and by controlling an operation rate of a compressor to a minimum operation rate if the indoor humidity reaches the target humidity; maintaining humidity of an interior space to the target humidity for a long period of time; and reducing power consumption by controlling an operation rate of a compressor to the minimum operation rate if the indoor humidity reaches the target humidity.</p>
