发明名称 MONTMORILLONITE FUNCTIONALIZED NONOFIBERS FOR ADSORPTION OF ORGANIC MOLECULES THROUGH ELECTROSPINNING
摘要 Functionalized polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) nanofiber materials impregnated with modified montmorillonite (MMT) as adsorbent materials with increased adsorption capability for capturing organic molecules in water and the process for producing it through electrospinning is disclosed . Three types of modified clays namely organoclay (nanoclay), beneficiated (A1-bene) and Na-activated (A1-Na) clays were blended with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and electrospun into fibers with diameter ranging from 6 to 19 urn. Using the SEM, FTIR and FT-Raman, fibers were investigated in terms of morphological structure, good functional property and mechanical property . A solution containing phenolphthalein (PHP) was used to test the ability of the fibers to capture small organic molecules. Using UV-VIS, the adsorptions of PHP on different fiber blends were determined. The addition of clay, with certain modification, increased the capability of fibers to capture PHP and possibly other organic molecules in water.
