The invention refers to a Lighting system comprising: a LED board bearing LEDs; and an optical board on the LED board; wherein the optical board is made of optical modules positioned side-by-side according to predetermined orientations one to the other, each optical module comprising at least one optical element adapted to face at least one of said LEDs and modify feature of the light emitted by this at least one LED, wherein the lighting system is provided with mechanical fool proofing elements adapted to prevent a positioning of the optical modules according to orientations one to the other different from said predetermined orientations.

1. A lighting system comprising:
a LED board comprising a plurality of LEDs; and an optical board disposed on the LED board;wherein the optical board comprises a plurality of optical modules positioned side-by-side according to predetermined orientations one to the other, each optical module comprising at least one optical element adapted to face at least one of said LEDs and modify a feature of the light emitted by this at least one LED, wherein the optical modules further comprising a base part having sides provided with mechanical fool proofing elements adapted to prevent a positioning of the optical modules according to orientations one to the other different from said predetermined orientations and wherein the base part has at least a first, second, third and fourth side provided respectively with a first, second, third and fourth mechanical fool-proofing elements, wherein the first and the second mechanical fool-proofing elements are adapted to cooperate with each other, and the third and the fourth mechanical fool-proofing elements are adapted to cooperate with each other, and wherein the first and second fool-proofing elements cannot cooperate with either of the third and fourth fool-proofing elements.
