A hybrid work machine, comprising: an engine; a water temperature meter that detects a water temperature of the engine; a hydraulic pump driven by the engine; a boom attached to an upper-part turning body of the hybrid working machine, an arm attached to the boom, and an attachment attached to the arm, the boom, the arm, and the attachment being driven with hydraulic fluid discharged by the hydraulic pump; a motor generator connected to the engine; an electric energy storage unit configured to store electric power generated by the motor generator; and a control part configured to perform control on driving of the motor generator so as to start to increase an assist output of the motor generator so that the assist output of the motor generator increases as the water temperature of the engine increases, so as to compensate for a decrease in an output of the engine, when the water temperature of the engine detected by the water temperature meter exceeds a first predetermined temperature at which the output of the engine starts to decrease, and start to decrease the assist output of the motor generator when the water temperature of the engine detected by the water temperature meter becomes lower than a second predetermined temperature at which the output of the engine starts to increase, after the water temperature of the engine stops increasing and starts to decrease.
