1. An electronic device comprising:
an obtaining unit configured to obtain information about the presence or absence of a touch, information of a touch position of the touch, and information about a capacity value of an electrode from a touch detection unit configured to detect a touch onto an operation plane on the basis of outputs from a plurality of arranged electrodes; and a control unit configured to effect control such that in a case where the information showing the presence of the touch is obtained by the obtaining unit and the touch position lies within a predetermined area including an end portion of the operation plane, if the capacity value of the electrode is equal to or greater than a first capacity value, a process corresponding to the touch is executed, and in a case where the information showing the presence of the touch is obtained by the obtaining unit and the touch position lies within another area different from the predetermined area, if the capacity value of the electrode is equal to or greater than a second capacity value greater than the first capacity value, the process corresponding to the touch is executed.
