The present invention provides a method for manufacturing an electronic component including an external electrode having high shape precision. A coating process of coating a conductive paste to form an external electrode (13) on the main body (10) of an electronic component is performed. During the coating process, a first recess (21a) on an outer circumferential surface formed by an elastic body supplies the conductive paste (25) to the first recess (21a) of a roller (21) disposed along a circumferential direction, and the main body (10) of the electronic component is arranged to allow a second main surface (10b) of the main body (10) of the electronic component and the roller (21) to oppose each other to dispose a first ridge unit (10h) formed by the second main surface (10b) and a first cross section (10e) in the first recess (21a) when viewed from above. In a depth direction of the first recess (21a), the main body (10) of the electronic component is pushed against the outer circumferential surface of the roller (21) to dispose the first ridge unit (10h) in the first recess (21a) to coat the main body (10) of the electronic component with the conductive paste (25). |
