FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: claimed is method of water surface purification from oil pollution in case of small oil spills, as well as in case of purification of water areas from hydrocarbon films. Method includes contact of water with vegetable sorbent and its removal from water surface. As sorbent used are preliminarily dried and crushed to 5 mm size stem and leaves of common reed and leaves of camelthorns in proportion relative to oil pollution 0.5:0.3:1.
