The invention relates to a cleaning composition, the use thereof and the method for applying same, which composition removes and prevents metal incrustations and re-incrustations adhered to surfaces such as stainless steel or titanium surfaces, frequently used in the mining industry for electrowinning of metals such as copper, as well as in the food and viticulture industries. According to the invention, in a first embodiment, the composition comprises: an oxidising agent; a surfactant; and water, and in a second embodiment, it also comprises a gelling agent.
