The device has an intermediate piece (11) comprising a tubular shaped portion (11a) that is fitted around an end of a drive shaft (1). Another portion (11b) of the piece comprising a support unit (14) is adapted to bear against a face (2c) of a rod (2). An abutment of the rod is fixed on the former portion of the piece such that the rod is axially retained between the support unit of the piece and a bearing surface (11C) of the piece. Locking units lock the rotation of the rod with respect to the shaft. Blocking units prevent the rotation of the piece with respect to the shaft. The intermediate piece is made of plastic material. An independent claim is also included for an interlocking unit for securing access to a cable box with a high or medium voltage electric cell.
