The present invention provides a gate driver comprising a level shifter, which reduces a generation of constant current to reduce power consumption, and a driving method for the same. The gate driver comprises: the level shift outputting a first signal and a second signal; an output switch part discharging an output terminal, which is charged by a first current by a voltage of a first signal in a first section, in response to a second current which flows by a voltage of a second signal in a second section; a current sensing part allowing sensing current to flow corresponding to the voltage of the second signal in the second section and outputting a preset voltage corresponding to the flow of the sensing current; and a feedback part setting the voltage of the second signal to be a preset level or more in the second section in response to the preset voltage.
