PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power management system for efficiently performing power generation and power transmission depending on power consumption of a load.SOLUTION: A power management system for a storage battery assembly including a plurality of storage batteries includes the storage battery assembly which is composed of a layer of storage battery units 54, 55 configured so as to include a unit storage battery and a layer of a unit group configured so as to include a plurality of storage battery units, and comprises sub controllers 38, 39 for performing charge/discharge control of the storage battery units and a master controller 32 for managing, in a lump, a plurality of sub controllers. When it is determined that a malfunction of the master controller occurs; one of the plurality of sub controllers is made to substitute for the master controller, according to a predetermined substitution identification criterion, while disconnecting a storage battery unit managed by the sub controller substituting for the master controller. |
