PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical probe and a method of attaching the optical probe with which a connector and an adapter can easily be fitted automatically to each other.SOLUTION: An optical probe 20 comprises: an optical fiber 22 which rotates around a rotary axis line R and transmits light; a connector 21 which is connected to an end face of the optical fiber 22 and rotates together with the optical fiber 22; a support tube which surrounds the optical fiber 22 and rotates together with the optical fiber 22; a jacket tube 24 which covers the support tube; an inner shell 43 which is attached to the support tube, surrounds the connector 21 around the rotary axis R, and rotates together with the optical fiber 22; an outer shell 44 which is attached to the jacket tube 24 and surrounds the inner shell 43; and an elastic body 43c which elastically deforms between the inner shell 43 and the outer shell 44.
