A method for correcting a photographic composition is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is the method for correcting a photographic composition, the method comprising the steps of: receiving an original image input; forming an area of interest-map (saliency map) from the original image and performing an image segmentation process; extracting the area of interest-map by consolidating the area of interest-map (saliency map) and the image on which the segmentation process has been performed; and cropping by applying a scenario while applying a rule of thirds to the extracted area of interest.
