<p>The present invention relates to an active ESS. The active ESS comprises: a grid-connected power generation system; an independent power generation system; an auxiliary power supplying unit; a load; a power conditioning system (PCS) connected to the grid-connected power generation system, the independent power generation system, and the load by a power transmission cable, and compensating and converting one among a first power and a second power into a peak auxiliary power and sending the peak auxiliary power to the load. The auxiliary power supplying unit includes a battery connected to a power cable connected to the PCS to output a first auxiliary power; a super capacitor connected to the battery in a parallel to receive the first auxiliary power and outputting a second auxiliary power by charging and discharging the first auxiliary power; and a DC-DC convertor outputting the peak auxiliary power by receiving and stepping up the second auxiliary power.</p>
