PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a polarizing plate, to suppress coloration of an optical film caused by light, and to improve adhesiveness when a hard coat layer or the like is disposed on an optical film.SOLUTION: An optical film 31a, 31b, a polarizing plate 21A, 21B, and a liquid crystal display device are provided, which contains cellulose acylate and a compound represented by general formula (I) below; and a compound of the general formula (I) is provided. In formula (I), Rand Rrepresent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a cycloalkenyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; Rrepresents a halogen atom, a cyano group, or a substituent coupled via heteroatom or a carbon atom having a specific unsaturated moiety at an α-position; and each of R, Rand Rmay be replaced by a substituent. |
